The range our jurisdiction includes: Dongshi Dist , Shinkang Dist , Shinshou Dist , Heping Dist , the area range accounts for 1/2 of the Taichung City, because of the inconvenient location and most of are belong to farmland , forest land that planting a lot of fruit tree , forest etc.. Due to the limit of geography, our cadastral measure is more difficult than other Land Offices.

September 21, 1999 ,at 01:47 happened the heavy earthquake, Dongshi Dist , Shinkang Dist , Shinshou Dist , Heping Dist, are the most heavy disaster areas. The 921 earthquake cause 5032 houses collapsed, 3338 houses damaged and took 680 lives away, bear for century calamity. The original office collapsed because of this heavy earthquake, all cadastres are being rescued from aftershock by all colleagues, in order to continue serving the villager , put all cadastres in the Ya-Tan Land Office temporarily, supported by Fengyuan Land Office, Government of Dongshi Dist offered the temporarily work places, and National Property Bureau borrow land to build our interim office. Rebuilding work active promptly behind the calamity, supported by The 921 Earthquake Post-Disaster Recover Commission, Executive Yuan allotted full amount to rebuild the office in the original location, completed smoothly on December 2, 2002 .
